Bram finds space
Bram van Helden
In Bram vindt ruimte (English: Bram finds space), Bram van Helden takes the audience to a place of rest and attention. To an imagined room from Japan, where he would like to be and sometimes is for a short while. To a room that builds itself and in which you can disappear. The performance tries to realise an image step by step and to hold on to this moment. In the meantime, the sounds of sound artist Mathijs Leeuwis make you shuffle between the reality of the theatre and the dream of a room.
The work of Bram van Helden travels and lands between different disciplines, from theatre to visual arts. In his work, he turns objects and spaces into main characters in order to question the central position of man in the world. His work has previously been presented at a.o. Dutch Design Week, Theatre Festival de Parade, Festival Cement and Willem Twee art space.

PRESS
"With a handful of the right props, the right light and sound, and the concentrated focus of the makers on the floor and the viewers opposite, we believe in this house. And we believe that this house is the place that tells a story. A story that unrolls all by itself in our own heads."
