MOVING PENDULUMS & SYNCHRONIZING METRONOMES

“Time is nature’s way of keeping everything from happening at once.” - John Weehler

Within this 4.44m high pyramid structure, dozens of metronomes and a highly polished steel pendulum determine the rhythm of the performance. Manipulated by Nick Steur and by the audience, image, movement, sound and the slow onset of silence will be transformed in an enchanting performance, which might very well lead to a collective experience.

Performance artist Nick Steur has a particular signature: poetic, earthly, visual, intuitive and mystique. After the small approach of simply balancing rocks on top of each other in Freeze , previously on show at CAMPO, he now creates a slightly bigger installation with A piece of time (moving pendulums and synchronizing metronomes).
